For most, a visit to Las Vegas would not be complete without experiencing a world famous show in Las Vegas.  Many will be aware of the scale of some of the performances here with audiences in excess of seventeen thousand in one theatre (MGM Grand).

Nightlife in Las Vegas

Indeed, the entertainment in Las Vegas is second to none. The sheer size of some of the entertainment venues in Las Vegas is truly magnificent, and of course the earning potential ensures the biggest names are always live on stage  It’s a little known fact that in 1999, the Las Vegas MGM Grand Barbra Streisand concert grossed a whopping  $14,694,750 in just ONE night!

Las Vegas is the entertainment capital of the World where everything is possible and visitors can experience everything from a traditional showgirl revue such as the Follies Bergere, a magic and illusion show from the legendary David Copperfield to the latest ‘Bodies -The Exhibition’ in which actual specimens of the human body are exhibited. Whatever show in Las Vegas you choose, or whatever type of entertainment in Las Vegas you choose, you can be sure you will be in for a night to remember.

Las Vegas is synonymous with having a constant stream of the biggest names in entertainment.  It all started back in the 50’s with the Rat Pack which included legends such as Sammy Davis Jnr, Peter Lawford, Dean Martin, Joey Bishop and Frank Sinatra. Ever since, Las Vegas stages have been permanently booked with the worlds’ most talented and famous performers.

Perhaps the most famous and most synonymous star with Las Vegas is Elvis who performed in shows in Las Vegas between 1969 to 1977 and whos legend lives on as strongly as ever and continues to draw visitors in their millions from across the globe.

The disappointing thing about the shows in Las Vegas and entertainment in Las Vegas quite simply is being spoilt for choice!

The nightclub scene in Las Vegas is of course second to none, home to an awesome collection of some of the most technologically advanced, largest, most intimate, most exclusive, most chic nightclubs in the world.  Most clubs have an entry fee, usually no more than $10 but the best clubs can charge up to around $30.  More often than not, entry is free for women and strict dress codes are common in all nightclubs in Las Vegas so be sure to check first to avoid being refused entry.

There are many nightclubs in Las Vegas and here we will introduce just a small selection of some of the best nightclubs in Las Vegas; At the top of the Mandalay Bay hotel, you will find the ‘MIX lounge’ with its luxurious red and black decor.  Whilst at Caesars Palace, you will find ‘Pure’. The latter is part owned by Celine Dion, Andre Agassi, Steffi Graf and Shaquille O’Neal and features oversized bed seating overlooking the dance floor and a large outdoor terrace complete with dance floor and cabanas overlooking the Strip!

Perhaps one of the wildest nightclubs in Las Vegas which comes highly recommended particularly for the younger crowd is VooDoo Lounge, 51 stories above ground level in the Rio Resort, the VooDoo Lounge offers the most stunning views and sunsets across Las Vegas.  Enjoy one of their famous cocktails, the ‘Witch Doctor’ concocted by their amazing, award winning bartenders whilst listening to the beat from their nightly DJ’s.

Open seven days a week from 5pm, the VooDoo has an amazing weekly line up of top DJ’s spinning a bouncing range of Hip Hop, House and Mash up.

Lax Nightclub in Las Vegas

With rich red leather and oversized mirrors, sparkling chandeliers, the LAX has an exceptionally modern and luxurious atmosphere and unparalleled VIP table service and Ultra VIP Lofts.

If you are looking for a real fun night out where, dress-wise, pretty much anything goes and the bartenders dance bar-top, try the ‘Coyote Ugly’ in the New York-New York hotel.

At the MGM Grand, spend a night in ‘Studio 54’, and if it takes your fancy, dress up like Barbie and Ken dolls in the Dollhouse party which takes place weekly.  Also at the MGM Grand is the chic ‘Tabú’ ultra-lounge.

‘Rain Las Vegas’ is located in the Palms Casino Resort with its bamboo dance floor, fire, water and fountains.

Love Vodka? Then you simply must go to ‘Red Square’ in Mandalay Bay where the bar is impressively carved from ice and you can choose from a whopping selection of 200 icy vodkas!

If you are a fan of the ice theme, for a really cool dance venue, pop down to ‘ICE’ located just off the Las Vegas Strip.

A brief note on the law in Las Vegas – Laws are quite strict in Las Vegas when it comes to alcohol and you must be aged at least 21 to drink or to even go into a club that serves alcohol and even if you are just over 21, don’t be surprised if you are asked for ID. It isn’t commonly known that a curfew exists in Las Vegas and children under the age of 18 are not allowed out after 10pm midweek and after 9pm on Friday-Saturday and holidays unless they are accompanied by an adult. As such there are age restrictions in most evening shows and you should check in advance with each venue before you book if you are planning to travel with children.
